Hello Friends!
Here we are again discussing this thing about “Personal Prayer”.
What is a Personal Prayer Life?
It is all about the personal aspects of your life. It’s about your most intimate conversations with the Father.
It is where God deals with you and your “issues,” and let’s face it some of us have issues way deep in our tissues! (that is, our heart tissues).
It is where you go into God’s “Secret Place” and you allow Him into your “Secret Place”….
This “Secret Place” of yours that we speak of is none other than your heart, (soulish realm).
It has been said that “The soul is as deep as we are old”…so in the soul is where our emotions, mind, will, imagination, and intellect are stored. This is where all of our life experiences, good or bad, and before and after Christ are processed and held.
Some of these things we have experienced are traumatic and some even devastating in nature, to the point that our behavior is driven from a damaged heart or soul. This is why we see believers who act unseemly, angry, fearful, etc…(although they have been saved for a long time…)
God accepts us just as we are, but he doesn’t leave us in that state. God is committed to conforming us into the image of His Son! Our part is to give him our willing participation in the process. That process begins with Personal Prayer…
We must bring our hearts before God, open it up to Him, and ask Him, “What is in my heart?” Because everything about you – your actions, attitude, and behavior – can be traced back to your heart.
I imagine that deep down in the well of our souls, for every year that we have lived, if there was hurt or injury of any kind, there you will find the proverbial “Crime-Scene-Tape” that says, “KEEP OUT”, “DO NOT ENTER”. Why? Because there’s too much pain there, or that’s where you stopped living!
Well friends, this is exactly where God, by His Spirit, wants to come into close, intimate fellowship with you and I, so He can begin the healing, transformation process that our heart/soul has cried out for.
I look forward to going deeper soon…until then,
In Christ!
